As we've mentioned previously, Naomi and I are doing tag-teaming with our training for Around the Bay in a Day. One Sunday she'll ride - I'll ride the next.
Of course, the distinct benefit of not riding (apart from not getting rained upon and buffeted by winds) is to spend some quality daddy/daughter time with the increasingly beautiful Genevieve Claudia.
She's actually very well behaved for me. If she doesn't get her way, there's sometimes a little whinge, but then she'll move on. (I do feel for Naomi though - for is she's within sight, Genevieve demands 100% of her attention most of the time).
So we played a lot, slept a bit and I even managed to read the paper for a while while she kept herself entertained, playing and talking to herself. Of course, it was yesterday's paper (I hadn't managed to open it on Saturday). And I only managed the motoring section and a few headlines, but it least it was the paper and it was uninterrupted.
Next, on to feed time. And it isn't so much a matter of when the cat's away... more just that Naomi really can't stand the smell of fish and in any case, the actual content of fish fingers is pretty dubious and they don't smell great.
But Vievey loves them (she ate around 8 I think... hard to tell as she'd happily move onto the next before she'd finished the one she was munching on).
So to counter the fat and chemicals, it was onto some fresh fruit, which she polished off faster than the fish.
So I'm looking forward to getting out on the bike next week, but I'm also looking forward to the Sunday after that...
