Greta and Ab and their kids Aya, Griffin and Lily are currently in Melbourne. We stayed with them for a few days (this is them doing a bit of karaoke in Washington DC) when we did our world tour, and now they are scoping out Melbourne with the prospect of moving out here.
Anyway, it was Aya's birthday, and they are staying about 3 minutes walk away from it, so it was off to the Collingwood Children's Farm again. Yay!
The kids had a ball! Genevieve signed a petition against GE Foods, adopted 2 trees for the farm and saw lots of animals. There were cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, goats and pigs. Everything was going well until a pig stole Genevieve's pear so she stuck her finger up his nostril.
That wasn't the funniest thing though, Henry was giving the goats cuddles and kisses but unfortunately the goat had his back to him so Henry planted one right on the goat's bottom.
My Aunty Verna turned 80, so there was a big party at my Cousin's - Kerrie. We were lured by the prospect of some great food (CWA Cookbook goodness), but once we got there, we realised the highlight would be the fact that Genevieve would get to see (and hear) cows and sheep in real life.
Nanna really wanted to show her off so it was a given that we'd go. I also managed to get a haircut beforehand too, so she was happy about that (although she didn't want to say anything about it).The food was great. The sponge was awesome (I generally don't like sponge). There was a huge array of slices including one with bananas in it. No... not 'real' bananas. The lolly ones! Hey... don't knock it until you've tried it!
